3 tiered Ruby Wedding Cake

When I first got asked to make this cake it was on the basis of "our wedding cake was so bad 40 years ago". Great, I thought... no pressure then...!

The bottom tier is a Sacher Torte with a mirror glaze, the middle tier a zinging lemon cake, and the top tier a Victoria Sandwich.

When the boxes were opened one of the first comments from the husband was "this was what it was supposed to look like 40 years ago", and from the wife "I am almost glad we had such a bad cake at the wedding so that we ordered in this one today". How heartwarming is it to hear that!?
